Questions about choosing a service
Which of these services do we actually need?
Most clients need the first one, and the rest either come with it or are occasional. Managed IT support is the monthly relationship: the help desk, the monitoring, the patching, the security stack and someone accountable. Cybersecurity and backup are not separate purchases sitting alongside it — the controls are already inside the monthly rate. Cloud, VoIP and consulting are the ones you add when you have a specific need. If you are not sure, describe what is currently going wrong on a call and we will tell you which of these is the answer, including when the answer is none of them.
Are cybersecurity and backup separate services we have to buy?
No, and this is the most common misunderstanding about how we price. The monthly rate already includes 24/7 managed detection and response, email security and quarantine, DNS and web content filtering, application allow-listing, multi-factor authentication and identity hardening, dark web credential monitoring, patch and vulnerability management, and backup verification with recovery testing. There is no security tier to upgrade to. The separate pages exist because those topics deserve a proper explanation, not because they are separate invoices.
What is the difference between managed IT support and IT consulting?
Support is ongoing and priced monthly; consulting is a defined piece of work with a start and an end. Moving offices, migrating a mail platform, replacing a firewall, rebuilding a network after an acquisition — those are projects. They get scoped and priced in writing before anything starts, and you approve that before we begin. If you are a monthly client the consulting sits on top of the relationship; if you are not, we will still do the project.
Can we hire you for a one-off project without a monthly agreement?
Yes. Plenty of first engagements start that way, and it is a reasonable way to find out whether you want to work with us before committing to anything ongoing. We will tell you honestly if a project is going to keep failing because of something underneath it that a project cannot fix.
We already have an IT person. Does any of this still apply?
Usually yes, and the arrangement is called co-managed. Your person keeps the relationships, the institutional knowledge and the day-to-day. We take the parts that need round-the-clock coverage, specialist tooling or an audit trail — and we remove the single point of failure, which is the thing your insurer and your auditor both ask about. It is not a step towards replacing them.
What does all of this cost?
The rates are published in full and there is no form in front of them: $163 per user, $19 per computer, $100 per server, $17 per mailbox and $179 per additional location, per month. A fully equipped seat — one person with one computer and one mailbox — is $199 all in. No minimum, no setup fee and no automatic annual escalator. Projects and hardware are quoted separately and approved in writing first. The pricing page has a calculator.
Do you work with our industry?
We work across eight: legal, accounting and tax, financial services, healthcare, manufacturing and construction, nonprofits, private and parochial schools, and churches. Each has its own page explaining what actually breaks in that setting and which obligations apply, because the honest answer differs a lot between a law firm and a shop floor. Start at industries we serve.
Where do you provide onsite support?
Across Northeast Ohio from offices in Solon and Lorain, and in the Greater Houston area including Montgomery County and Conroe. Onsite visits are part of the monthly rate rather than a trip charge, so the rate is the same whether you are ten minutes away or an hour out. See where we cover.
How does getting started actually work?
A thirty minute call first, where we ask what is breaking and you ask whatever you want. If it looks like a fit, we document your environment and price it on your actual counts rather than an estimate. Onboarding typically runs about a week. Contract terms are twelve, twenty-four or thirty-six months, with no onboarding or setup fee.
What happens if we want to leave?
You get a clean handoff. Businesses outgrow providers, get acquired or bring IT in-house, and none of that is a reason to make the exit difficult. We do not withhold data, credentials, documentation or your intellectual property under any circumstances, and we work with whoever comes next so there is no gap in coverage.
